National Pharmacies is committed to creating value for our members and customers. One way of achieving this is the provision of highly trained and knowledgeable employees, who are best able to meet customer needs and expectations. We are committed to providing quality ongoing training to our employees and have an expectation that new employees will embrace this philosophy.

National Pharmacies recognises that ongoing personal and professional development is vital to ensure we continue to provide superior service to our members, as well as providing a motivated and skilled workforce. The training opportunities we provide are diverse and we continually seek new relevant and challenging programs that will assist us to meet our goals.

We have a comprehensive induction / orientation program for all new employees to provide training and development in:

  • Management
  • Retail operations
  • Customer service
  • Product knowledge
  • Technical skills
  • Dispensary technician development
  • Professional education

We also actively support employees gaining accreditation in programs such as First Aid, Sports Medicine, Naturopathy and alternative healthcare. We have a structured Study Assistance Program for all employees and actively support the professional development by subsidising CPE programs and professional association events and other conferences.

National Pharmacies offers structured career paths in many disciplines. These are provided in conjunction with development programs, or as stand-alone opportunities. Opportunities to work interstate or in regional locations for fixed periods are also available.
