Pharmacy Operations Manager

What is the job?
The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of the pharmacy and in particular developing the pharmacy's vision and performance goals through the provision of high levels of service, positive business results for the OTC and dispensary business and outstanding people management.

Candidates will:
Develop local marketing and business strategies in consultation with the Marketing Department to improve performance to either meet budgets or to improve overall pharmacy performance including identifying opportunities to improve the membership value equation

Achieve profit goals through:
Business development
Member value
Operational budgets
Expense management
Labour management
Merchandise management
People Development
Other KPIs as directed

Develop networking relationships with local businesses to enhance the Pharmacies image and performance.

Work with the Professional Practice Manager ensure that appropriate pharmacy legislative requirements are complied with.

Ensure first class customer service to all customers is achieved through the coordination of staff interaction with customers and the implementation and monitoring of branch QCPP standards.

Skills and experiences required:

Pharmacist-In-Charge

What is the job?
The Pharmacist-In-Charge is responsible for achieving pharmacy performance goals, while providing high quality pharmaceutical dispensing, advice and counselling consistent with or greater than established professional and Quality Care Pharmacy Program (QCPP) standards.

Candidates will:
Ensure that all day to day operations are conducted efficiently and effectively and that productivity improvement's are identified and pursued.

Implement as appropriate strategies to improve performance to either meet budgets or to improve overall pharmacy performance.

Interpret and act upon pharmacy financial reports to ensure maximum profit to the pharmacy is realised.

Lead and manage the pharmacy team through leading by example, establishing consultative processes, setting team and individual goals, applying effective delegation techniques and utilising a philosophy of continual improvement and self development

Provide a safe working environment for all employees, which includes the implementation of occupational health and safety and security policies and procedures, as well as strategies to control risks and hazardous events

Skills and experiences required:
Current registration as a Pharmacist with the relevant state or territory Pharmacy Board.
Experience in managing a retail business
Experience in implementing and / or maintaining QCPP
Experience in leading diverse teams
Sound communication skills

Professional Practice Manager

What is the job?
This position is responsible for the control of professional practice throughout the Pharmacy and leading the dispensary team to achieve dispensary performance goals. The Professional Practice Manager is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality pharmaceutical dispensing advice and counselling consistent with or greater than established professional practice standards.

Candidates will:
Manage dispensary costs while providing first class customer service by ensuring appropriate employee rostering, management of employee leave, the implementation of loss prevention strategies and the management of inventory.

Develop, establish and maintain professional activities / initiatives that contribute to the professional standing of the Pharmacy.

Lead and manage the dispensary team through leading by example, establishing consultative processes, setting team and individual goals, applying effective delegation techniques and utilising a philosophy of continual improvement and self development.

Ensure first class customer service to all customers is achieved through the coordination of employee interaction with customers and the implementation and monitoring of branch QCPP standards.

Monitor and implement appropriates strategies, to improve prescription waiting times.

Skills and experiences required:
Current registration as a Pharmacist

Pharmacist

What is the job?
Pharmacists are responsible for assisting in the maintenance of high levels of customer service and performance standards for the pharmacy. As a member of the pharmacy team the Pharmacist will act as a role model in supporting and promoting National Pharmacies' Vision, Values and the Quality Care Pharmacy Program.

Candidates will:
Provide quality pharmaceutical dispensing, advice and counselling consistent with or greater than present professional and QCPP standards. Including maintaining up to date knowledge and understanding of current pharmacy practice and developments.

Support the pharmacy team through personal leadership in order to promote the development of team spirit.

Make recommendations to the Pharmacist in Charge on strategies to improve performance to either meet budgets or to improve overall pharmacy performance.

Maintain an understanding of National Pharmacies' current vision, key objectives and financial performance.

Continually look to develop their skills and experiences with an eye to specialising or working towards a management role.

Skills and experiences required:
Current registration as a Pharmacist
Skills in effectively and confidently counselling customers on health related issues
Total commitment to the provision of first class customer service
Ability to make appropriate decisions and accept responsibility for any consequences

Service Manager / Coordinator

What is the job?
The Service Manager is responsible for contributing to the pharmacy's performance goals through the provision of high levels of service, positive business results for retail business and outstanding people management.

Candidates will:
Ensure first class customer service to all customers is achieved through the coordination of staff interaction with customers and the implementation and monitoring of branch QCPP standards

Achieve profit goals in the OTC sales activities of the pharmacy by making decisions in the areas of:

direct supervision of retail employees
delegation and allocation of work
preparation and management of staff rosters, to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times
management of retail inventory
merchandising of retail products
recruitment of OTC employees

Skills and experiences required:
Be totally committed to the provision of first class customer service
Understand the drivers of retail profitability and be able to manipulate these to maximise profitability
Have outstanding selling skills
Be strongly oriented to coaching, counselling and guiding staff, including high levels of consultation and involvement of employees in decision making
Be experienced in supervising staff to achieve organisation and team goals

Dispensary Technicians

What is the job?
The key purpose of this position is to prepare prescriptions efficiently and accurately under the close supervision and guidance of the pharmacist.

Candidates will:
Provide first class service to all customers
Perform front of the shop activities as directed
Accurately prepare all documentation and medicine to permit checking of the prescription by the pharmacist
Maintain an up to date knowledge of computer dispensary operations
Maintain and apply stock control procedures
Maintain up to date knowledge of National Health Scheme (NHS)
Maintain up to date knowledge of scheduling of medications

Skills and experiences required:
Have at least 2 years full time experience as a Computer Operator / or the completion of the National Dispensary Technicians Training Course / or demonstrated the required competencies
Ability to compile a minimum of 180 scripts per day in conjunction with the pharmacist
Sound customer service/relations skills
Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy at all times
Ability to communicate effectively with all other dispensary staff and customers
Organised and tidy approach to work and the work environment
Ability to focus on a single activity for long periods of time

Pharmacy Assistant

What is the job?
The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to members and customers, achieving sales targets, including membership promotions, management of designated sections (including stock management), general housekeeping and other duties as directed by management.

Candidates will:
Provide first class customer service to all customers at all times ensuring the branch QCPP standards are followed
Utilise appropriate selling techniques such as companion selling to contribute to pharmacy sales goals and membership promotions

Beauty Therapist

What is the job?
The Beauty Therapist is required to carry out various treatments within the pharmacy beauty room, meeting sales targets and being heavily involved in developing client numbers. Primarily treatments will include facials, body treatments, manicures, pedicures and waxing.

Our Beauty Therapists provide excellent customer service understanding customer needs and selling appropriate products to match these needs. They are set weekly sales targets and complete sales reports, daily customer record sheets and daily and monthly task sheets.

Applicants must have successfully completed post graduate training in Beauty Therapy at a College of Technical and Further Education (TAFE) course or its equivalent and be currently working in the industry for a period of not less than two years. Our candidates must have high standards of personal presentation, outstanding customer service skills, motivation to achieve set goals, merchandising knowledge and the ability to use sales techniques effectively. We believe in employing qualified Optical Dispensers and offer a supportive learning environment for employees to gain full qualification and registration. Our Optical Dispensers enjoy being busy, have a professional attitude to customer service, and have the ability to work independently to achieve personal and team goals.

Unlike other optical outlets our Optometrists are independent. This means that we recruit and develop Optical Dispensers to become Branch Managers. Our branch managers are responsible for maintaining positive team relationships, branch and individual performance and ensuring profitability targets are met.

Storeperson (Casual)

Located in Adelaide, South Australia our busy Distribution Centre provides warehousing and distribution services for all of our pharmacies located in metropolitan Adelaide, country centres and interstate. The efficiency of our Distribution Centre is crucial to the continuing success of our organisation.

Our permanent storepeople are recruited from our casual pool. Casual storepersons work approximately 20-25 hours per week. The positions involve general store duties including receiving goods, pricing stock, replenishing stock, and assembling orders. Our successful employees are highly accurate when checking numbers, self-disciplined, able to work at a solid pace without comprising quality of work, able to work flexible hours and adapt to different tasks, and are able to work effectively in a team. A respect for others and an awareness of safety issues is essential.
