    1. Am I able to access details online of how much I have spent at National Pharmacies during each financial year for tax purposes?

      Federal and state Privacy laws provide protection for individuals in the way companies have to store, use and allow access to pesonal information, and these requirements are even stronger for information that is considered to be health information. Many of the purchases from National Pharmacies fall within the guidelines of what is considered health information. National Pharmacies maintain the highest level of compliance with the privacy act to protect the privacy of your information.

      To obtain a tax statement we are required to be certain that when we provide health records that the person receiving the information is duly authorised to receive the information, and we cannot simply assume under the privacy act that a wife, husband or child has given permission to another member of a family to obtain access to their health records.

      To ensure the privacy of health records there are two ways to access the information:

      • Either each family member will need to provide evidence of their identity at the time of requesting the information in which case we can provide the information directly;
      • Or we can mail the information individually to each family member. You will need to complete a Privacy Form in one of our stores and provide identification. We can then arrange for our Finance Dept to extract this information and have it sent to you.
         
    2. I can't get access to your website to check my membership?

      If it is the first time visiting the website, you need to register online. After registering, each time you come back to the site just log in with your email and password.

    3. I have successfully joined National Pharmacies through the website however; I have not yet received an email confirming it.

      2 situations may have happened: the email confirmation is sitting under your ‘Junk Mail’ folder or you may have mistyped your email address therefore, we could not deliver the email confirmation to your inbox properly.

      Please contact us if you want to confirm what email address you have provided us or if you want us to send you a temporary membership card. Please bear in mind you should be receiving your full membership cards by mail within 28 working days.

    4. I have forgotten my password, how do I retrieve this online?

      Your user ID is your email address. If you have forgotten your email address or if you no longer use the email address you used to sign up, please contact Member Services. To retrieve your password, click here. An email message will be set to the address provided. Your password will not be reset until you click the activation link in the message.

    5. I have changed my details, how do I let you know?

      Only the contributor can amend the registration details by going into “Change my details”. If you are a Police Health or Bupa member, please contact Member Services on 1300 66 7676 from 9am to 5pm (EST) Monday to Friday

    6. I no longer wish to receive emails from you, what do I do?

      If you have subscribed to our emails you will always be given the option of unsubscribing to the emails at the bottom of each email you receive. You can also login to your account and update your preferences by unticking the types of things you are interested in.

    7. I have successfully registered online however I am unable to proceed past the Family section, as "Title" wasn't completed.

      If you are a Bupa or Police Health member, any changes you may want to make (including change of address), please contact your health insurer direct. By contacting them, National Pharmacies system will be updated automatically.

    2. What is a Friendly Society?

      Friendly Societies are mutual organizations where all the assets belong to the members. Profits are reinvested in the organization to provide members with benefits and improved services.

    3. How many National Pharmacies stores are there?

      National Pharmacies currently operates 35 pharmacies in SA, 18 in Victoria, 1 in WA and 1 in NSW. We also operate 23 Optical stores, 19 in SA and 4 in Victoria.     4. What does Quality Care Pharmacy Program (QCPP) mean?

      QCPP is a community pharmacy quality assurance program. The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia introduced this important initiative to promote business and professional practice standards in community pharmacies. It ensures that the community receives the best possible quality pharmacy services and healthcare advice. National Pharmacies is proud that in 2000, they were the first pharmacy group in Australia to achieve national accreditation under this program. National Pharmacies continues to maintain QCPP accreditation for all of its pharmacies.

  7. Membership

    1. What types of Membership are available?

      Both Single and Family memberships are available.

      Single memberships are for the personal use of the member named on the card and are not transferable. In the case of Family memberships, the member card is for the use of the person named on the card as well as their spouse/partner and any valid dependants listed on the back of the card. Cards can be requested for the member’s valid dependants.

    3. What information do I need to renew my membership?

      You will need your membership card, your tax invoice number (located on the right hand side of your renewal notice letter) and your credit card for payment.

    4. I have tried to renew on your website and it keeps bouncing to join as a new member but I already am a member and just want to renew.

      If your membership is cancelled, you will be directed to re join as a new member. You will be issued with a new member number and card in due course.

    5. What sort of benefits am I entitled to as a member of National Pharmacies?

      Benefits of membership with National Pharmacies include:

    6. What are reciprocal benefits?

      Under the reciprocal benefits agreement, National Pharmacies Members, whilst travelling interstate, are entitled to receive benefits at participating Friendly Society Dispensaries. The level of benefit received is at the discretion of the participating pharmacy and may not be the same as the benefit provided at National Pharmacies. The reciprocal benefits agreement is only acceptable on a temporary basis.

      For Example, if a National Pharmacies member moves interstate permanently, the Friendly Society dispensary in that particular state has the right not to honour the National Pharmacies membership card.

    7. What do I need to do to ensure I get my member benefit in store?

      Simply present your card in store when finalizing your purchases or prescriptions.So ensure that you carry your National Pharmacies membership card at all times. Benefit cannot be provided without presentation of your membership card and benefits cannot be paid retrospectively.

    8. What do I do if I lose my card?

      Simply call into your nearest National Pharmacies store or phone the Member Services Department on 1300 66 76 76.

    9. What member benefits do I receive in Optical stores?

      Optical benefits include:

      • 20% off frames and lenses
      • 20% off fashion sunglasses
      • 20% off contact lenses, cleaning fluids and optical accessories

    10. If I forget my card and pay full price in store, can I claim my 20% benefit back next time I go to the store?

      Unfortunately benefits cannot be paid retrospectively so it is important that you always carry your membership card with you and present it when making purchases in a National Pharmacies store.

    11. For some reason, the website is not accepting my credit card.

      Please check whether you have typed your credit card details in correctly. If the error persists, please contact your financial institution and explain what sort of error response you are getting.
