Market Data

National Pharmacies supplies scanned sales data to various data collection agencies including ACNielsen, AZTEC and BU Australasia.

ACNielsen | ScanTrack Pharmacy

To provide pharmaceutical, health and beauty manufacturers with a better alternative to existing pharmacy scanning services, ACNielsen is developing ScanTrack Pharmacy. The only service endorsed by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and API (Australian Pharmaceutical Wholesalers), ScanTrack Pharmacy will provide the most accurate, reliable and timely measure of consumer sales of non-ethical products in the pharmacy channel.

Key features of ScanTrack Pharmacy include accurate national and state level breaks, industry standard product classification (as well as custom segmentation), accurate sales, distribution and pricing data, and baseline sales and distribution of promotions.

A bigger and better sample

With the support of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, ScanTrack Pharmacy will be based on 550 pharmacies, the largest sample of pharmacies currently available.

ACNielsen's single-minded focus is on data quality and accuracy. Whilst a larger sample will produce better estimates, it is even more important to ensure that the sample is balanced on the key dimensions - geography, banner and size - and projected to a known universe. Over many years and across diverse channels such as liquor, books and route, ACNielsen has built its statistical expertise in the area of sample design and panel management. This expertise ensures you will get the most accurate market measure.

You can be confident that ScanTrack Pharmacy delivers accurate and reliable consumer information to enhance your business decision making.

AZTEC | Pharmacy Scan

AZTEC's Pharmacy Scan Service displays pharmacy sales of all products in a subscription category. This information is derived from point of sales systems, and as such, products can be analysed as they are sold to consumers and data can be collected on all products regardless of whether they are supplied to the pharmacy by a wholesaler or direct from a manufacturer.

AZTEC's Service reports sales data in units and retail value, distribution and price. Reports are delivered every four weeks.
