Choc Orange Donuts

Choc Orange Donuts

Cooking time: 10-15 minutes Serves: 6

100g almond meal
60g honey
100g free range eggs (approx. 2-3)
2tbs Cacao powder
2 tsp vanilla powder
Zest of one orange
25ml orange juice.
1/4 tsp baking soda

Chocolate Ganache:
250g dark cooking chocolate, chopped
1/3 cup cream

Preheat your oven to 160C

Grease your donut pan and set aside.

In a mixing bowl, mix together all of your donut ingredients until smooth.

Fill your donut pans with your mixture, filling each donut cavity 1/2 way full.

Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Insert a skewer into the middle of each donut to see skewer removes clean. Return to oven if need be. Ensure not to overcook them as they’ll dry out!

Allow to cool slightly before removing from donut tins.

To make chocolate ganache, combine chocolate and cream in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Stir with a metal spoon until smooth. Remove bowl from heat. Drizzle over donuts.

These donuts will keep in the fridge or at room temperature for 3-4 days stored in an airtight container.
