Repeat Prescription
These consultations are for your existing and ongoing treatment.
Details
Only one medication can be requested with each consultation, and further repeats are not issued.
One medication per consultation, no repeats.
Addictive medications will not be prescribed. More information.
Authority scripts will not be prescribed as a repeat script appointment. Please book a phone or video consultation for authority scripts.
The doctor has the discretion regarding the prescription.
The GP will phone you (from a silent number) to discuss and issue the script.
URGENT SCRIPTS
These bookings will be prioritised, typically with a phone call and script provided within 30 minutes.
NON-URGENT SCRIPTS
These bookings will depend on appointment availability, which may take up to 8 hours (available during business hours only).
Brief Consultation (to 10 mins)
A consultation of up to 10 minutes in length on one health issue.
Details
Doctors can issue e-scripts for multiple medicines, authority scripts and/or medical certificates.
Addictive medications will not be prescribed.

Two minor issues or more complex concerns (e.g. COVID antiviral assessment).

If you are new to our service or requesting a repeat script, you will receive an email with forms to complete before your consult. Allow up to 5 minutes for the email to arrive. Check your spam or junk folders too.

Video Consults
Your chosen specialist GP will call you by phone on a silent number or, you will receive a link to join the video call at the booked time.
Script
E-scripts can be sent to you by SMS, email or directly to your preferred National Pharmacies store.

Who provides the telehealth consultations?
TeleWell GPs are vocationally registered, meaning that they have undergone advanced training in the specialty of general practice. With your consent, they involve your regular doctor for continuity.
Why didn’t I receive a call?
Doctors call from silent numbers. Ensure your phone can accept them.
Are there any medications that cannot be prescribed via a telehealth consultation?
All prescriptions are issued at the discretion of the treating doctor.
Schedule 8 and 4D medications aren’t prescribed. Refused prescriptions don’t result in refunds.

Is there anything that cannot be covered during a consultation?
- Management of emergency or life-threatening illnesses or injuries. Please call 000 for immediate assistance in such cases.
- Management of conditions requiring a physical examination or procedures.
- Centrelink certificates
- Backdated medical certificates
- Chronic disease management plans or reviews
- Mental health treatment plans or reviews

Is my consult covered by Medicare?
No, consults do not attract a Medicare rebate. Consultations are fully payable before the appointment.
Why was I charged more than expected?
Fees are based on the actual consultation duration, complexity and timing of the day or week with higher rates during the after-hours periods and public holidays.
