Naturopathy - A holistic approach to health care

At National Pharmacies we support our members and customers to achieve health and wellness through our large range of in-store services. One of these services is Naturopathy. With three resident Naturopaths consulting from selected pharmacies, we can support you on your holistic health care journey.

So, what is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a holistic approach to wellness; supporting a person to live a healthy lifestyle. The foundations of Naturopathy are based on the importance of a healthy diet, clean fresh water, sunlight, exercise and stress management . As Joanna (Jo) Hill, National Pharmacies Naturopath, says, “it’s a holistic approach to medicine where you are prescribed diet, lifestyle, nutrients, supplements and herbal medicines.”

A visit to a Naturopath at National Pharmacies begins with a consultation. This initial consultation will take place in one of our in-store private

consultation rooms, with you sharing a lot of information about yourself and your body. Your Naturopath will ask you lots of questions about different systems in the body, they will look at your symptom history, your family history and then recommend natural ways to improve those areas. Jo says, “We don’t just look at the symptoms, but look at what the cause is, so instead of me giving you something to improve the pain in your stomach, I will look at improving your whole digestion, so that the symptoms don’t keep coming back.”

At National Pharmacies we stock a large range of Naturopathy products, including ‘practitioner only’ products, which can only be prescribed by a qualified Naturopath after a consultation. Other products include: all natural foods, teas, supplements and even cleaning products. At National Pharmacies our Naturopaths will always work closely with our Pharmacists to ensure that your naturopathy treatment supports any medication you may be taking.
