Rapid Antigen Test Kits are now available in-store and online at National Pharmacies. We kindly ask that you do not phone your local pharmacy to check for RAT availability during this time.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms please do not attend a pharmacy to collect a RAT Kit. Go directly to a testing centre.

Government Concessional Access RAT Program

From the 24th of January, you can access free RATs if you hold an eligible Commonwealth concession card, including:

  • Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
  • Department of Veteran’s Affairs Gold, White or Orange Card
  • Health Care Card
  • Low Income Health Card
  • Pensioner Concession Card

National Pharmacies currently stocks RAT Kits in packs of 5 only.

Can I use a single RAT more than once?

All tests are for single-use only which means you can only use each test ONCE and then it must be thrown away. Do not ever use a test more than once or attempt to use one test on different people.

Who is eligible for the Commonwealth Concessional Access Program?

You are eligible if you hold an eligible Commonwealth concession card:

How many RAT Kits can I access?

Eligible individuals can access up to 10 RATS over a 3 month period. However, you can only access a maximum of 5 RATs over a 1 month period.

Can I collect my free RAT Kits from different pharmacies?

Yes, you can collect RATs from different participating pharmacies. However, you will need to provide your concession card details each time you access your RATs so we can verify your eligibility and monitor how many RATs remain in your quota for the three month and one month periods respectively.

How do I collect my free RAT Kits?

Visit your local National Pharmacies and present your Commonwealth concession card to receive your free RATs

At home Rapid Antigen Test may be used to detect SARS-CoV-2 (covid-19). Negative test results do not exclude infection with COVID-19 (so face masks, social distancing and good hygiene practice must be maintained). For self-testing only. Please read instructions before using the test. Test can only be used one time. Follow current government health direction regarding polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing requirements for positive results or for symptomatic persons. Always read the label. Follow the directions for use.
