Cholesterol monitoring
Cholesterol is the fatty substance that is required by your body and contained within your blood. The body produces some cholesterol naturally but it can also be obtained through some foods. While your body needs cholesterol, high levels in your blood is a risk factor for heart disease. Testing your cholesterol levels regularly can assist in the prevention of a heart attack and help you manage your condition.
Conducted in private consulting rooms by one of our trained employees, cholesterol testing is FREE for members. Speak to your local National Pharmacies to discuss how cholesterol testing can benefit you.
Blood Glucose monitoring
Blood glucose refers to sugar that is transported through the blood stream to supply energy to all cells in our bodies. The human body regulates blood glucose levels so that they are neither too high or too low – this is necessary for our bodies to function.
They key outcome of testing is to ensure that your blood glucose is within the prescribed levels. Testing can be used to determine if you are at risk of diabetes or, if you have diabetes, regular blood glucose testing can help you understand your levels and how to balance food intake with lifestyle, activity and medication.

Bowel Screen Test Kits.
Bowel cancer (or colorectal cancer) is the second largest cancer killer in Australia, behind lung cancer. In 90% of cases, if detected early enough, this cancer can be treated successfully. In the early stages there are no symptoms, so the best way to detect bowel cancer is through screening.
A bowel cancer screening test is called a Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) and can detect small amounts of blood in bowel movements which can be an indicator of bowel cancer. It is recommended that all Australian’s aged 50 and over take the test every 2 years. These tests are available from all National Pharmacies and are easy, convenient and simple to use, and can be done in the privacy of your own home. The cost of postage to the pathology laboratory is also included. After the test has been analysed, your and your nominated GP will receive a report detailing the test results and any actions required.
