Gemma knows what it’s like to suffer from vision problems. As a child she was very short-sighted and still remembers the ‘wow’ moment of seeing clearly for the first time.  It was this, combined with her love of science and desire to help people, that drew Gemma to Optometry.  With a Bachelor of Optometry, with first class honours, Gemma loves seeing the confidence a slight improvement or change in a patient’s eyesight can provide.

Helen decided she wanted to be an Optometrist when she first read about Fred Hollows. After finishing high school, she started studying Optometry and loves making a difference in her patient’s lives.

Jemma has been working in the optics even before becoming an Optometrist, starting as an Optical Dispenser in her younger years before choosing to study Optometry. With a keen interest in health and providing individualised solutions for her patient’s vision needs, Jemma enjoys educating her patients in regards to their eye health and visual function.

John first experienced Optometry at the age of 10 when he needed glasses himself, leading him to become an Optometrist. With a love of meeting and interacting with new people, John loves the balance of medical, technical and personal aspects of being an Optometrist, particularly the feeling of helping someone achieve something that they weren’t able to achieve before their interaction with him.
